VSCC: The Pomeroy Trophy 2024

Being keen hobby photographer I always thought video making is something I want to try too. So after January sales at Hohem, I kited myself with gimbal, set of microphones and watched few tutorials on YT!

Coincidently there was this vintage racing event at Silverstone Circuit where my colleague James was participating for the first time with his GN. So having plenty of reasons we geared up for the worst weather and good half an hour later we are on the track!

And here starts the learning process.. I probably have made all possible mistakes – started with low FPS which resulted in quite poor images and the beginning of the video, also had stabilizer off and you can clearly see that! I managed to almost loose one of the microphones and soon figured out the built in light is.. umm.. not that powerful. To make things worse, my lack of visit to the gym meant my right hand was totally exhausted half way through the paddock.

However for a first time the result is reasonable. I have decided to exclude racing footage just because we were too far from the track and my phone’s zoom lens is…not great to say the least.

Maybe I’ll catch a sale for better hardware this Easter but for now – enjoy the mediocre video and some photographs below!
